Shawl Ministry

Another sign of our openness to ways of expressing and experiencing our faith is the Shawl Ministry. Begun in late fall of 2004, a group of 12 currently meets twice a month to knit beautiful shawls. The shawls are then shared with the recipient prayerfully, joyfully and comfortingly. We have dedicated dozens of shawls that now warm and bless in this unique type of caring. Each of the knitters has been touched by this very spiritual experience and we've received wonderful words and letters of thanks.

When a shawl is presented, all who are in attendance touch the shawl, passing it around while a prayer of dedication is read.
